Parkinson’s Support in Sheffield

Helping people with Parkinson’s stay strong, mobile, and connected

At Community Wellness Services, we understand the challenges that come with living with Parkinson’s - from changes in movement and balance to the emotional impact it can bring. But with the right exercise, support, and community around you, it’s absolutely possible to maintain strength, confidence, and quality of life.

What is Parkinson's disease?

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects how the brain coordinates movement. It can cause symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, slowness of movement, balance issues, and fatigue.

While there is currently no cure, exercise is one of the most effective ways to manage symptoms and improve both physical and mental wellbeing.

Regular, tailored movement can help:

  • Maintain mobility and independence
  • Improve strength, balance, and coordination
  • Reduce stiffness and rigidity
  • Boost mood and confidence
  • Support better sleep and overall wellbeing

How Exercise Supports People Living with Parkinson’s

Research shows that people with Parkinson’s who stay active experience slower progression of symptoms and improved quality of life. Exercise helps keep muscles strong, joints flexible, and the brain engaged.

At Community Wellness Services, we create safe, supportive spaces where people with Parkinson’s can move, socialise, and thrive - surrounded by others who understand the journey.

Our sessions are led by qualified instructors with experience in neurological and mobility-based exercise, ensuring every participant feels confident and supported.
